The Last Chaplain?
Im hoping that the release of the Blood Angels revives my favorite HQ unit in the 40k universe - The Chaplain. Im just begining to read "Rynn's World" (The Black Lib novel about the assault on the Crimson Fists home world by an Ork Waaagh), and the first few pages starts out with a Fist Chaplain inspiring his chapter, enraging them for battle.
Nothing says blood angels to me like a skull helmeted jet packed vampire preaching litanies of battle (as it is the coolest model out there too).
Unfortunately, I just never, ever see the Chaplain anymore. ever. never ever. While Im new to 40K, I know the chaplain was nerfed in the new SM Codex, and will likely be in every oncoming marine codex. I for one, am going to try very hard to find a place in my army for one, as I just think it fits the fluff sooo well (same for you Black Templar players - thought I guess you dont need to re-roll). I for one think that would be a great HQ choice leading my 10 man assault marine squad... I wonder if the black templars will get a Chaplain Dreadnought as the BAs got a librarian dread, hmm....

I am a hardcore Chaplain player...2 Termie Chaplains 1 Jump Pack and 3 regular ones with bolt pistols or plasma pistols...and then the cassius model himself...
and only one Librarian...
Granted I miss my I5 chaplains but for the most part my I4 is still able to put some hits in there and kill stuff...
I love chaplains, everything about them screams bad-ass. I run mine all the time, just a standard chaplain in power armour. Though I know what you mean about them becoming increasingly less popular. It's all due to the increasing need for librarians.
Im glad to see a new "super" chaplain in the BA codex as a HQ choice. More costly however...
I also think the Librarian will be king amongst the BAs, like the Rune Priest are for SFs.
Chaplains are still great in assault squads (liturgies of battle)
and re: your HQ choice: Master of the Forge (2+ save and that conversion beamer..)
